Know Important Steps for the GST Registration

What is GST Registration? 

GST Registration is a process through which businesses or individuals get themselves registered under GST. Having said that, the persons are required to be registered mandatorily under GST if they surpass the following limits:



Apart from the above, the following persons have to obtain GST Registration, irrespective of their turnover limit: 

- Individuals who were already registered under the Pre-GST laws 
- Casual taxable persons / Non-Resident Indians carrying business in India 
- Inter-State supplier of goods/services 
- Input Service Distributor 
- Those paying tax under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) 
- Persons who supply via e-commerce operator
- TDS/TCS Deductor 
- Lastly, persons supplying OIDAR services 

GST Registration Process To register under GST

Step 1: Go to the GST Portal 
Step 2: Click on Services > Registration > New Registration 
Step 3: Fill the Part A - Enter the details such as PAN, mobile number and email. - Verify the mobile number and email by entering the respective OTPs - Receive the Temporary Reference Number (TRN) Step 4: Log in to the portal by using the Temporary Reference Number 
Step 5: Provide business details, promoters’ details, authorized signatory details, and bank account details. 
Step 6: Upload the required documents 
Step 7: Sign the application form - Aadhaar-based OTP for proprietors or partners - DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) for companies and LLPs 
Step 8: Submit the application 
Step 9: The application will be verified by the respective GST officer. 
Step 10: Receive GSTIN in your registered email upon approval of the application.
